Freediving Central is Australia’s leading freediving school. Located in Sydney and on the Central Coast we run freediving courses and freediving trips all over Australia and around the world.
Freediving Central is owned by Dan Parsons, one of Australia’s best and most experienced freediving course instructors.
Not only is Freediving Central Australia’s leading freediving school, but we also run depth and pool training, surf survival courses (big wave surfing courses), underwater photography workshops, social dives, freediving trips and a whole lot more!
What sets Freediving Central apart from other schools is that we have removed the ‘normal’ course environment from our freediving courses in Sydney and the Central Coast and take away any pressure to perform. Our freediving courses and trips are a very relaxed and fun environment, and we are usually laughing all day long. We find our style naturally helps people to relax which in turn gives them the confidence to dive deeper, hold their breath longer and achieve their personal goals. We genuinely care about our students and see Freediving Central as the school that can take your diving to the next level and a social community where friendships are made.
Dan has worked as the head safety diver for National Geographic, providing safety for world-renown underwater videographers and photographers, working in various remote locations around the world on expeditions. He has also travelled all around the world training and freediving with some of the best competitive freedivers of all time!
Freediving is not an extreme sport for our school. It’s a relaxing, social experience where friendships are made. Dan freedives for his absolute love for it, for relaxation and for the joy that comes from seeing his freediving course students achieve personal goals, become comfortable with new techniques and find their love for freediving too.
Freediving Central is one of the best in the business and has some of Australia's most experienced instructors. All ages and levels of experience are welcome, including corporate bookings. Our school offers all levels of freediving courses: Try Freediving, Level 1/Wave 1 (beginners), Level 2/Wave 2 (advanced), Level 3/Wave 3 (master) and Freediving Instructor courses, as well as private coaching. Once you have completed your freediving course you will receive a certification that is recognised worldwide.

Freediving is a sport that slows your mind down. When you’re diving, all you think about is what you’re doing in the “right now”. You completely focus on the moment, and it is so peaceful. For many, freediving is a life-changing activity.
As your mind opens up, your friendship circle widens too – the freediving community is a rich and varied one. With a better understanding of freediving, you also learn your own breathing and diving capabilities, as well as how to test your limits at your own pace.
