Level 1 or Wave 1 is where you will learn the foundations of freediving, equalisation, breath-holding and relaxation in the water. You will learn all the physical, mental techniques to start your freediving journey and dive to a depth of 10-20 meters on a single breath!
Our course takes place amidst the stunning backdrop and crystal-clear coastline of Jervis Bay. It caters not only to complete beginners but also to individuals with prior freediving, spearing, surfing, or diving experience who have yet to undergo formal freediving training.
Whether you’re starting from scratch or seeking to refine your existing skills, our Level 1 course is the ideal platform to nurture your passion for the underwater world.
The first day involves knowledge development about equalisation, freediving, and safety, as well as breathing and breath hold techniques and relaxation. This is followed by a pool session to put these techniques into practice, as well as introduce dynamic apnea (swimming distance underwater), and safety training for rescues.
The second day consists of 2 open-water sessions. The first session is designed to get you comfortable with equalisation, free immersion, and depth diving techniques. In the afternoon the second open-water session will bring all the skills that you have learnt together in constant weight freediving to get you deep! If you are up on the Central Coast, join us on the boat so you can experience deep diving in a great location.
Equipment for the course is included for free mask, snorkel, freediving fins, weight belt, and weights. Wetsuits can be rented with a cleaning fee of $40.

Day 2: Boat Dive Jevis Bay (8.30 am – 2.30 pm)
Level 2 or Wave 2 is where you will learn deep equalisation techniques, advanced breathing, and mental techniques, and you will begin to experience a deeper relaxation as you dive to depths of 24-30 meters.
The 2-day Level 2 or Wave 2 freediving course, held in Sydney and on the Central Coast, includes a theory session, pool session, and 3 open water sessions, made up of one shore dive and two deep boat dives. We use the Central Coast for our Wave 2 / Level 2 courses as it is one of the only places to get the depth needed.
The theory session will expand on the foundations of freediving that you have already mastered and will start to introduce the lock system for deep equalisation, introduction to lung stretching, and gain an understanding of barotraumas and how to continue to dive safely as you start to reach some serious depth.
With 3 open water sessions, you will have plenty of time to put your new equalisation skills into practice. We will look at how to do continued training and set you up with self-sufficient training drills as well as introduce a new diving discipline, CNF (Constant No Fins). CNF is diving to depth without using fins, it is the purest form of freediving and the most rewarding!
This course is suitable for anyone who has completed their Level 1, Wave 1 or equivalent freediving certification.
