What You’ll Use and Why It Matters
We keep gear straightforward for beginners. A comfortable, well-fitting mask makes a big difference, and long fins help you move through the water with less effort.
You might also use a wetsuit, depending on the location, mainly to keep you warm and relaxed. Beyond that, there’s nothing complicated. The goal isn’t fancy equipment, it’s learning how your body works in the water.
Most people are surprised by how little gear is actually needed. Once you’re comfortable, you can always look at your own setup later, but there’s no rush.
Getting Started Without the Guesswork
If you’d like to try it without worrying about gear, our freediving courses include everything you need to begin. You can also explore Freediving Central to see how we run sessions, or get in touch if you’re unsure about anything before your first dive.
