QUESTION

What’s the Difference Between Snorkelling and Freediving for Beginners?

Snorkelling is about floating on the surface and looking down, usually with minimal effort. Freediving is about learning how to dive below the surface on a single breath, in a calm, controlled, and relaxed way. Both are fun, but freediving opens up a completely different underwater experience.

What It Actually Feels Like in the Water

With snorkelling, you’re mostly staying at the top, breathing through a snorkel and watching what’s below. It’s easy, casual, and a great way to get comfortable in the ocean.

Freediving, on the other hand, teaches you how to slow everything down. You learn how to breathe properly, relax your body, and gently dive under the surface without rushing or forcing anything. It’s not about pushing limits. It’s about feeling calm, moving efficiently, and enjoying that quiet, weightless feeling underwater.

Most beginners are surprised by how peaceful it feels. There’s no pressure to go deep or stay down long. We focus on making you comfortable first, and everything else builds naturally from there.
