The Full Packing List for Pool and Ocean Days
For the classroom and pool sessions, keep it simple. Swimmers, a towel, a water bottle, and comfortable clothes cover it. The theory sessions involve a lot of sitting and listening, so dress for comfort rather than the water.
For ocean days, add a few extras that make the day more pleasant. A warm jacket or hoodie, a beanie, and a hot drink in a thermos go a long way once you are out of the water, especially in the cooler months. Sunscreen and a hat are worth packing for the time spent on the surface and on shore.
On the gear side, everything technical is supplied. Your mask, snorkel, fins, and weight belt are included, so there is no need to invest in equipment before you know what suits you. If you already own freediving gear, you are welcome to bring it, and the instructors can check that it is set up correctly for you.
Two small but important items round out the list. Bring your completed medical and waiver forms if you were sent them in advance, and answer the health questions honestly, since certain conditions affect how the team looks after you in the water. And eat a light meal a couple of hours before, rather than bringing a big lunch to eat right before diving.
