What non-diving activities are included?

Our freediving trips include plenty beyond the dives. Depending on the trip, that can mean daily yoga, breathwork, sauna and ice baths, group dinners and guided cultural days. Most of it is optional, so you can join in or take the time for yourself.

Do freediving trips include daily coaching?

Yes, our freediving adventure trips are built around coaching, with theory workshops, guided line dives and instructors on hand to help you improve. The balance varies from trip to trip. Wildlife trips put the encounter first, so it is worth checking the itinerary of the one you like.

How long does the Level 1 course go for?

The Level 1 / Wave 1 freediving course runs over two days. Day one covers theory and pool training, and day two is open water diving. Both days start at 8:30 am and finish in the afternoon.

Are sharks common at Sydney freediving spots?

Sharks are a natural part of Sydney’s waters, but how likely you are to cross paths with one depends on where, when and in what conditions you dive. Bull sharks move into Sydney Harbour in the warmer months, while sheltered, patrolled spots along the coast are a different proposition. That is why we plan our sites and dates around the season and the water.

Do beginner freediving courses go to sharky areas?

No. Beginner courses are built around pools and sheltered, well-watched sites, not places chosen for shark activity. Our Try Freediving course is pool-based, and our Level 1 course starts in a pool before moving to open water sites picked for calm conditions. No ocean spot can promise it will never see a shark, but where and when we dive is decided with that risk in mind.

How safe are group freediving trips?

Group freediving trips run under the same safety-first standards as our courses, with buddy systems, experienced instructors, and close supervision on every dive. That structure is what allows a group of mixed ability, from complete beginners to experienced divers, to dive together safely on the same trip.

How much diving do you do each day on a freediving trip?

Most days on a freediving trip include one or two dive sessions, usually split across the morning and afternoon, with rest built in between. Every session is optional, so you can dive as much or as little as suits you on any given day.

What’s the difference between a freediving holiday and a training camp?

A freediving holiday centres on adventure and marine encounters at a relaxed pace, while a training camp is built around structured coaching and depth progression. Many trips sit somewhere between the two, blending guided training with genuine downtime, so it is worth checking which balance a specific trip leans toward before booking.

What is included in the Level 1 / Wave 1 Freediving course?

The Level 1 / Wave 1 course includes theory, pool training, and open water sessions, working towards a worldwide recognised freediving certification. Gear hire, including mask, snorkel, fins, and weight belt, is included, and flexible payment plans are available if you would rather spread the cost.
